Although the Situationists are cited constantly in architecture schools, it seems their lessons have not been learned. A few new boutiques for fashionistas and halls for playing centuries-old music absorb the attention of architects while the world marches on, daily finding new ways of doing away with architecture. AUDC finds itself in possession of an old box of on-off switches and a row of light posts. The instructions by which one can connect the switches to the posts without electrocution are long lost.

AUDC’s goal is not to make objects or buildings, not to desperately fumble at making something “new,” but to uncover the world, as it is, in its most radical form.

Architecture Urbanism Design Collaborative is a nonprofit collective that uses the tools of the architect, the designer, and the historian to research architecture and the city together with the individual and the community in the contemporary urban environment. AUDC does not make buildings or produce plans, AUDC creates conceptual architecture.
